Georgia State football received some good news on Saturday night after the NFL Draft had completed as former running back Donald Russell and tight end Emmanuel Ogbuehi received camp invites by two NFL teams.
Both players were invited to participate into NFL rookie/free agents mini camp that traditionally takes places only a few days after the draft.
Russell, who had workouts with the Jacksonville Jaguars, was invited to the Atlanta Falcons camp. "The Donald" proved to NFL scouts in the Georgia State Pro Day that he had bounced back and was completely healthy from the MCL injury that cut his senior season short.
Ogbuehi, who had a workout with the Atlanta Falcons a few days before the Draft, has been invited to the Washington Redskins camp. Manu had really come onto the radar of NFL Scouts with great work in the weight room and an impressive Pro Day. He was given very limited opportunities in his Senior season but a tremendous job by him and his agent as his tape was likely shorter relative to other tight prospects.
These two Panther alumni join Christo Bilukidi (Oakland Raiders) and Jake Muasau (New York Giants) in the NFL. Four players in three completed seasons is an incredible accomplishment for this young program.
Good luck to both players!
